Love is patient; love is kind. Love is not jealous; is not proud; is not conceited; does not act foolishly; is not selfish; is not easily provoked to anger; keeps no record of wrongs; takes no pleasure in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth; love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. ~ I Corinthians 13:4-7.

Tampopo kasi (my magic ramen)

by fy

Last Sunday hubby and I watched an old Japanese movie, “Tampopo”. It was hilarious! (2 thumbs up). We enjoyed the film too much that at the end we suddenly had a craving for some ramen.

We were drooling over at the picture of a hot spicy noodle soup. So, I opened my fridge and see how I can work out a little magic for us. Found some pork and siomai. I thinly sliced them, and put in the pot together with 1 whole onion. I had to asked my husband to go to the nearest store to get me some spring onion and egg noodles. Added some sliced tofu, then seasoned it with salt, pepper, 2 beef cubes. Let it boil about an hour. Then I toasted some garlic for topping. A few drops of sesame oil and sprinkled some sesame seeds, some veggies.. and wah-lah! we got ourselves a pretty flavorful, spicy Ramen!

This is far from being Tampopo but surprisingly it worked. It was sumptuous!, done in just less than 2 hours. We enjoyed our soup and my hubby was pretty impressed!

A little gardening for today

by fy

I tried to do some gardening today. I didn’t finish as much work as I normally do because I had to transfer the plants I bought about two months ago. I suck at gardening but I am trying.

I bought some plants from a nearby vivero. Almost finished but I still have a few left on their plastic pots. I just finished transferring three of them today. Gardening is not my thing but I’d like to bring some life into our patio.

While gardening, a fly was checking out my little sunflowers and so I grab my camera with the macro lens. It is not as crisp but I still think it turned out pretty nice.
