Hubby and I were both proud of ourselves that we did our price comparison before we start baby shopping, a wise move on our part considering how ridiculous prices here are. We now have the big necessities for our little boy. Later on, we can start with the small ones.

We are particularly grateful that a friend of ours insisted on building a crib for us as a gift, the same exact one that we were planning to buy, which cost about $600 at the mall. I wanted something that can be converted into a bed so our boy can use it up until 3 years of age. So, he said to take a pictures and give him the design. He know someone who is expert with wood, and can make an exact duplicate. What a major saving!
We searched the entire downtown area to find the right baby drawer, inexpensive but exactly what I was looking for. I personally like dark wood, which was a little challenging to find. We saved a lot as well on the stroller and infant car seat combo. This Graco brand cost about $300 at the mall, but we bought the same exact thing at Pricesmart for just $200.The Graco portable crib cost about $230 at one shop and $160 at another, but we bought it (again the same exact thing) only for $110, at Pricesmart as well. It’s amazing how they come up with numbers here, truly unbelievable. If you are not wise enough, you’re going to lose hundreds of bucks. Lastly, we bought a changing table which cost just about $120 at the mall. That same friend of ours let us borrow his car so we can fit these all in. We are exhausted by the end of the day, but pleased with ourselves at how much we saved, and happy that now the baby has these essentials.
