I was watching Food Network one afternoon and I saw Sunny Anderson’s Red Velvet Swirl Brownie recipe. I never had a red brownie before. Since it seemed easy to make, I thought I’d try making one, plus it has cream cheese on it, and I happen to love cream cheese.

It was de-li-cious! rich and creamy! My hubby didn’t like it as much though. Well, I should have known. He is more of a chocolate lover, though this one has cocoa in it, it didn’t appeal  much to his taste. He is not even a big fan of cheese cake. But I give this one a 5 star. I’d say best eaten after baking.

It turned out quite easy to do actually, and fun too. You betcha! it didn’t last two days. I had everybody in the house keep coming back to it for breakfast and merienda (my hubby in particular). It was definitely crispy and creamy, as the recipe had promised. I never tried anything with yeast before because I am intimidated by it. But after this attempt, it ain’t going to be my last experiment with yeast in it. I might try home made bread pretty soon.

The chocolate was the favorite of the house. Why not? I used Hershey’s semi-sweet chocolate to make a ganache. I also made other toppings like cinnamon sugar, plain sugar, butter glaze (butter and confectioner sugar) and milk/sugar glaze (milk and confectioner sugar). I could have made other toppings but I know my husband is not into fancy toppings.

How I wish I could make one like those of Krispy Kreme. But who knows what is the secret to their long lasting soft doughnuts. Probably they used some sort of bread improver, a special yeast or a specialized flour, or just a totally different technique in kneading. As for now, I am happy that my first attempt was a success. Soon, I’ll be trying other doughnut recipes, and hope to learn how to make one with a filling.

The one here sounded to me like a giant man walking, and it is exactly the same as that of what was heard in Colorado. Some call it “the Rumble” or “the Hum”. I have no idea what it is. In other places it sounded like that of a trumpet, some said like a huge drilling machine. Even some describes it like straight out of the movie War of the Worlds. There were also reports that they felt the ground was shaking at the exact time they heard it. Furthermore, it doesn’t seem to be related to weather condition, because in some place the sky was clear. Here, neither the vulcanologist nor the weather forecasters recorded anything at the time of the strange sound. And the sky was pretty clear here the night it happened. I remember seeing the full moon before we went to bed.

There are several theories out there from UFO related to the Mother Earth crying out, and others saying that it could be the coming Apocalypse. Nobody can be certain what it is, but my best bet is something serious is going on inside the earth, maybe some sort of a strong tectonic movements.

Anyway, here I am posting some of the videos I have been watching at YouTube, related to this strange event. Maybe you can find more of these, but sure gives me goosebumps. Perhaps, we can expect more of this unknown phenomenon happening again. It sure looks like it is still going on. I hope some international group will start a research to find some sort of a logical explanation. As for me and my family, the best thing to do really is pray. I’m just a bit alarmed that a strong earthquake is forthcoming, which I pray won’t happen. But to be prepare, after this post, I am checking some earthquake survival guide.

Oh well…

2011 has indeed ended. It was a great year for me and my family. We had our church wedding in April, and came August, our first child was born. What could be better than that? Obviously, not everything is a bed of roses. We had our share of tough times, and financial isn’t so great either. But looking back, I am more than grateful that we are together as family and in great health. Those are more than enough to be thankful for.

I welcome 2012 with much hope and anticipation of better things to come. I commit each day to the Lord. He is my strength and through him each day I wake up I have the kind of peace that I need to live each day with joy in my heart.

So, truly this is a Happy New Year!
